Day of the Dead celebration
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the International Quilt Museum located on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Campus at 1523 N. 33rd St. The event will include musical performances, arts and crafts, a children’s book read-aloud, and refreshments. This event is free, and all are welcome.
Día de los Muertos is a holiday traditionally celebrated Nov. 1 and 2, when people gather to remember friends and family members who have died. The observance includes creating home altars (ofrendas) and serving traditional cuisine.
The event is made possible through a collaboration with the International Quilt Museum, El Centro de las Américas, Lincoln Commission on Human Rights, Lincoln City Libraries and the Lincoln Arts Council.
